MEET AMBER

As a pre-k through 4 certified teacher with a Bachelors of Science degree in elementary education from Texas State University, I have over 20 years of experience in public education. I also hold a master reading teacher certification enhancing my knowledge of reading for students beyond 4th grade. For the past 8 years, I’ve specialized in supporting students with dyslexia and recently attained my Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) certification. Having previously served in Waco ISD as a classroom educator for grades 2, 3, and 4 and working struggling readers as a tier 3 reading interventionist, I felt a strong pull to gain more knowledge to support students in their reading journey. My background includes extensive training in the science of reading through the Texas Reading Academies and multisensory reading instruction. I’m passionate about helping young readers build confidence, develop essential skills, and discover the joy of reading. I tailor my approach to meet each child’s individual needs and work closely with families to support growth and success.

I live in Aledo with my husband, our 11 year old daughter, and golden retriever!  We enjoy spending time with family, most anything outdoors, cooking, and watching our youngest daughter play soccer.  We also have two daughters, a son-in-law, and grandson residing in Waco and a daughter, son-in-law, and grandson stationed in Ft. Cavazos (Killeen, TX).

  Amber is passionate about working with younger students to help develop pre-reading skills - in addition to older students who are already reading! Amber uses strategies backed by the science of reading along with multi-sensory techniques to intervene and support reading and spelling growth.
