ABOUT JAMIE

Hi! I'm Jamie, and I have more than 30 years of teaching experience working with students across every grade level. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping children build confidence, overcome challenges, and discover their ability to succeed.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from East Texas State University and my Master of Science with a reading specialty from Texas A&M University–Commerce. Over the years, I have taught in Mesquite ISD, The Little Red Schoolhouse, and currently at The Gathering Place Homeschool, giving me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of learners and learning styles.

I believe every child can thrive when they are given the right support, encouragement, and tools to succeed. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping students gain confidence and experience those exciting "lightbulb moments" when learning begins to click.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our blended family, especially our three energetic grandsons. I also love attending concerts, entertaining friends and family, gardening, and starting my mornings with a cup of coffee while spending time with my chickens.
