ABOUT MARISA
I’m a Registered Nurse and Lactation Consultant with 19 years of nursing experience, including 11 years specializing in lactation. My background in both the NICU and Mother/Baby settings has given me the opportunity to support families through many different feeding experiences and challenges.
My passion for lactation care is also deeply personal. I am the mother of a son with Down syndrome, and our own feeding journey was complicated and, at times, challenging. I have also personally walked through a feeding journey with one of my children who had oral ties. Navigating these experiences as a mother taught me so much—not only about feeding, but about the importance of having someone who listens, provides encouragement, meets you where you are, and helps you feel confident in your choices. These experiences continue to shape the way I care for families today.
I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to feeding. My goal is to provide evidence-based education and compassionate support while helping each family develop a feeding plan that works for them. I work with families throughout their feeding journey, including prenatal education, breastfeeding, pumping and establishing milk supply, combination feeding, and bottle feeding.
One of the greatest joys of my work is the relationships I build with families. I love walking alongside parents, helping them navigate challenges, celebrate their successes, and feel supported and confident in whatever feeding plan they choose.
Whether you are preparing for your baby’s arrival, learning to breastfeed, exclusively pumping, introducing a bottle, or navigating feeding challenges, I’m here to support you—without judgment and with the goal of helping you feel confident every step of the way.
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
