MEET JESSICA
I am an experienced elementary educator with a Bachelor's degree in Multidisciplinary Studies III from McMurry University in Abilene. I am certified in English as a Second Language and Gifted and Talented education. Over the past 22 years, I’ve dedicated my career to helping students grow and thrive—19 of those years proudly spent in Aledo ISD.
My passion lies in teaching upper elementary math and science, but I am confident with working with younger grade levels. Most of my classroom experience has been in 4th and 5th grade, along with serving as a summer school interventionist. Throughout my career, I’ve remained committed to professional growth. I’ve attended the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching multiple times, participated in the Texas Regional Collaborative for Math Teachers at Region 11, and contributed as a curriculum writer for Aledo ISD’s math and science departments.
In 2021, I was honored to be named Aledo ISD’s “Elementary Teacher of the Year” and selected as a Region 11 Teacher of the Year nominee.
My love for math intervention stems from witnessing far too many students struggle with math and develop a fear or dislike for it. When people ask what I do, I proudly say:
"I help students believe they can do math."
That moment when a student realizes their own progress—that they can succeed—is what drives me every day. My teaching mission has become clear: to rebuild confidence, close learning gaps, and make math meaningful and accessible for every learner.
I’m a proud Aledo native and currently live here with my husband, Travis, and our three children. My oldest daughter is a junior at Tarleton State University, my son is a junior at Aledo High School, and my youngest daughter is in 6th grade at Aledo Middle School.
