MEET SUSAN

I am a recently retired educator of 36 years and 35 of those were spent working with the amazing teachers and students in Aledo ISD. Go BEARCATS!

My experience in education includes teaching 3rd and 4th grades, P.E., K-6 reading specialist, dyslexia teacher, Assistant Principal, and most recently, serving as an Early Literacy Specialist. I am a proud graduate of Texas A&M University (WHOOP) where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Educational Curriculum and Instruction with an endorsement in reading and physical education. I also hold a Master’s Degree from Lamar University in Educational Administration.

My family includes my husband, Barry, and my daughter, Sydney and we love traveling together and hiking national parks. My personal interests include pickleball, biking,nand mahjong.

I truly believe that reading and writing are vital skills and I want to build and grow a solid literacy foundation in every young reader and writer. Why? Because it matters!
